The company, based in Davenport, Iowa, is owned and operated by Bill Schwader. Bill has more than 40 years of experience in building and driving racecars on dirt and on asphalt from 1959-1999. All MidAmerican equipment is made in the U.S.A., designed and manufactured at MidAmerican's Davenport, Iowa shop. Bill Schwader spent a lifetime in racing and is now fully committee to providing his fellow racers and other metal workers with affordable, versatile, and reliable tools. MidAmerican began selling tools and equipment to the racing industry in 1986. While a number of tubing benders, brakes and other metal fabrication machines were on the market at the time, none were priced for the average racer. And so, Schwader set out to design a line of affordable fabrication equipment, built to withstand the rigors of weekly racing but priced with the weekend warrior in mind. By the mid-1990's, MidAmerican had produced the E-Z Bend 90° Tubing Bender, capable of producing quality bends in 1", 1.25", 1.5" and 1.75" material. The bender was an instant best seller and remains one of MidAmerican's most popular items. Expanding on the success of the 90° Tubing Bender, Schwader next perfect the 180° Tubing Bender, capable of 0-180° bends in material from 1" to 2". In 1999, Schwader finished work on the first E-Z Bend Racer's Brake, a very versatile and affordable fabrication tool for the racing industry. The most recent additions to the MidAmerican product line include the E-Z Bend #10 Combo Punch Press with variety of fabrication applications including Punch, Punch & Flare, Shrinker/Stretcher and more.
